About The Position

The After Dark HVAC Substitute Instructor fills in for a classroom or vocational teacher during an absence, maintaining continuity of learning and a safe, positive classroom environment. The instructor follows established lesson plans, manages student behavior, and supports students’ academic and social needs throughout the school day. When lesson plans are unavailable, the substitute implements lessons with assistance and direction from the Program Manager or an Administrator. The position is scheduled to start November 12, 2026, and run through January 1, 2027.

Requirements

• Must be a Chapter 74 Vocational Instructor, be in the process of acquiring licensure, or be willing to initiate the licensure process.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.

• Prior classroom or educational experience.

Responsibilities

• Instruct classes when a teacher is absent.
• Assume the absent teacher’s other responsibilities during the period of absence.
• Implement lessons with assistance and as directed by the Program Manager or an Administrator when lesson plans are unavailable.
• Maintain appropriate records, including attendance, tests, homework assignments, projects, and other student records and required clerical work.
• Provide individualized and small-group instruction as indicated by lesson plans.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
• Follow school policies, procedures, and emergency protocols.
• Arrive on time and be prepared for the school day.
• Provide coverage for teachers attending in-school meetings and training.
• Perform other related teaching duties as assigned.
