About The Position

Rochester’s Cornerstone Group is seeking a skilled, dependable, and disciplined Affordable Housing Maintenance Technician to help maintain its properties. The role is responsible for property cleanliness, daily upkeep, maintenance requests and repairs, preparing apartments for future tenants, and maintaining curb appeal in accordance with Cornerstone and NSPIRE standards. The technician may work independently or with the team, communicates maintenance activities and property updates, and is expected to contribute to the company’s culture, mission, and values while working respectfully with staff, co-workers, and residents.

Compensation is $22–$25 per hour, based on experience. The role requires a personal cell phone, reliable transportation, a valid New York State driver’s license, and the ability to respond to required on-call shifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of experience related to maintenance and building systems.
• Personal cell phone use required; reimbursement is included.
• Reliable transportation.

• Prior experience working in property management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall property cleanliness, daily upkeep, and property needs inside and out according to Cornerstone and NSPIRE standards.
• Perform snow removal and landscaping as needed.
• Assist with or independently handle maintenance service requests and repairs.
• Communicate maintenance activities, problems encountered, work orders, and vacancy status updates in writing and verbally.
• Assist with or independently prepare apartments for future tenants’ move-in.
• Inspect the property daily and maintain cleanliness and curb appeal.
• Maintain a professional and respectful attitude and work cooperatively with staff, co-workers, and residents.
• Perform other duties as assigned and promote the company’s culture, mission, and values.
