Emerson College Los Angeles (ELA) seeks a part-time affiliated faculty instructor to teach the PA334 Acting for Film and Television course in the Fall 2026 semester. This course focuses on the transition from stage performance to single-camera, frame performance, integrating an intensive study of acting for the camera with character development. Students will also develop techniques in cold readings, advanced scene work, and auditions. This course is offered exclusively through the Los Angeles Program. The ideal candidate will possess significant professional experience and achievement in the performing arts, an appropriate advanced degree (preferred), and experience teaching acting at the undergraduate level. Affiliated faculty at ELA report to the Academic Director and collaborate with department chairs and senior faculty at Emerson's Boston campus. The appointment is for the Fall semester only, beginning August 29, 2026. The course meets in person once weekly on Thursdays from 10 am to 1:45 pm for 14 weeks. Emerson College is a four-year institution dedicated to communication and the arts, located in Boston, with approximately 4,500 undergraduate and 800 graduate students.
