About The Position

The Department of Criminology, Sociology and Justice Studies at Regis University is seeking affiliate faculty to teach introductory sociology and criminology courses in person during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. The fall term runs from August 24 to December 13, 2026, and the spring term runs from January 11 to May 2, 2027. The courses include CSJ 200: Introduction to Sociology, which examines the sociological study of society, connections between personal lives and the broader social world, and applies sociological thinking to understand and challenge injustice and promote social change. This course will be offered in the fall on MW 12:30 – 1:45 pm and in the spring on TR 9:30 – 10:45 am. The other course is CSJ 201: Introduction to Criminology, which introduces the study of crime as a social phenomenon and critically analyzes how society defines and responds to crime, including the social, political, and economic forces shaping criminalization and the U.S. punishment system. This course will be offered in the spring on TR 12:30 – 1:45 pm. Responsibilities

  • Meet in-person with the class twice when scheduled for traditional, in-person courses.
  • Hold 1 hour of office hours per week for traditional, in-person courses.
  • Participate in designing their own course in consultation with the chair of the department.
  • Deliver recorded virtual lectures for post-traditional, remote courses.
  • Actively engage with student posts on the discussion board for post-traditional, remote courses.
  • Respond to student questions for post-traditional, remote courses.
  • Provide feedback and grade assignments for post-traditional, remote courses.
  • Hold 1 ½ virtual office hours per week for post-traditional, remote courses.
