About The Position

Serotonin Centers is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented Aesthetic Nurse Extern to gain exposure to medical aesthetics and wellness while supporting clinic operations. The extern will work with experienced aesthetic registered nurses and other licensed medical professionals. Clinical duties are limited to activities permitted by applicable Illinois law, the extern’s training and authorization, and clinic supervision policies. This is an unpaid externship intended to provide mentorship, hands-on learning, and industry exposure for someone pursuing a career in aesthetic nursing. Potential employment after graduation may be available depending on qualifications, performance, and available positions. The position is located at Serotonin Centers in Naperville, Illinois.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Passionate about medical aesthetics, skincare, and wellness.
• Professional, dependable, and eager to learn.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient-focused attitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, including patience, empathy, and professionalism in client interactions.
• Prior sales experience and willingness to upsell skin care products.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Commitment to the success and growth of the center.
• All candidates will be subject to a background check.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in aesthetics, dermatology, or wellness.
• Knowledge of skin care trends, products, and treatments.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed medical professionals with patient preparation and room setup.
• Assist with social media content, recording, and before-and-after pictures.
• Support daily clinic operations and help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
• Observe and assist with aesthetic and wellness treatments as permitted by applicable regulations and clinic policies.
• Assist with patient intake, documentation, and follow-up tasks as authorized.
• Educate patients on general services, treatment preparation, and aftercare under appropriate supervision.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow infection control and safety protocols.
• Provide exceptional customer service and contribute to a positive patient experience.
• Assist with event planning and participate in events.
• Contribute to the center’s success and growth, including through willingness to upsell skin care products.
