About The Position

Wythe County Community Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a PRN Nurse Extern. The role supports the hospital’s mission of making communities healthier by providing patient care as part of the care team. The Nurse Extern performs direct patient care under the direction, delegation, and supervision of a registered nurse, documents care, and monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the supervising RN as appropriate.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Registered Nurse program.
• Must have completed the first semester of nursing school.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with the patient care team.
• Perform direct patient care under the direction, delegation, and supervision of a registered nurse.
• Document patient care provided.
• Monitor and record patient condition, and communicate it to the supervising RN as appropriate.
