About The Position

Vanguard Skin Specialists is seeking an entrepreneurial, value-driven physician to serve as our Lead Aesthetic Physician & Medical Director of Vanguard Aesthetics. This is a dynamic, on-site role combining direct clinical practice with medical leadership of our expanding MedSpa division. The practice philosophy is built on a conservative, natural-look approach, fostering deep patient trust and loyalty. The ideal candidate will have a baseline foundation in aesthetics (e.g., neurotoxins, dermal fillers) and a desire to master aesthetics services, handle clinical escalations, and lead a high-performing aesthetic team. Vanguard will invest in training on advanced injectable techniques, energy-based devices, and clinical hair loss treatments.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. with Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, OB/GYN, General Surgery, Cosmetic Surgery, or Otolaryngology
  • Active, unrestricted Colorado Medical License (or eligible for licensure) and DEA
  • Minimum 3+ years of post-residency clinical practice experience
  • A genuine passion for skin health, aesthetic medicine, and natural outcomes
  • Foundational experience in aesthetic medicine (neurotoxins/fillers)
  • Entrepreneurial drive to build and develop a team of medical aesthetic professionals

Responsibilities

  • Perform medical aesthetic procedures, including injectables (neurotoxins, fillers), laser and energy-based therapies (lasers), benign lesion removals and clinical alopecia treatments.
  • Provide clinical oversight for aesthetic RNs and licensed aestheticians.
  • Lead clinical onboarding, skills verification, and ongoing clinical development of new aesthetic RNs and aestheticians.
  • Review, approve, and maintain standing orders, clinical protocols (already in place for existing services), informed consents, and emergency escalation algorithms.
  • Partner with the Director of Operations to co-lead monthly aesthetic team huddles and evaluate new clinical technologies and services.
  • Serve as the clinical authority for complex consultations, protocol overrides, and acute adverse event management during clinic hours.
