About The Position

Cyient, Inc. is seeking an Aerospace Structural Analysis Engineer to perform detailed stress analysis on aircraft structures, components, and systems, ensuring design integrity and compliance with aerospace standards. The role includes engineering analysis and testing related to aerospace structures, power plants, aircraft, and parts. It may involve planning thermodynamics, aero-thermal analysis, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, aero-mechanics, and acoustics; establishing specifications; conducting performance tests; and predicting noise levels and designing elements to meet applicable regulations, specifications, and guarantee requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in aerospace structural analysis.
  • Proficiency with finite element analysis software such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or ABAQUS.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace materials, structural mechanics, and failure theories.
  • Experience with airworthiness regulations, such as FAR Part 23, 25, 27, or 29.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with CAD software such as NX.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or MATLAB for analysis automation.
  • Familiarity with proprietary Pratt & Whitney analytical tools.
  • Experience using ANSYS/Workbench is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct static, fatigue, damage tolerance, and thermal stress analysis using classical hand calculation methods and finite element analysis (FEA) software.
  • Develop and validate FEA models for various aerospace components in gas turbines.
  • Prepare detailed stress reports, presentations, and technical documentation summarizing analysis results and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, manufacturing teams, and other stakeholders to optimize structural designs and resolve technical issues.
  • Support structural testing activities by defining test requirements, analyzing test data, and correlating results with analytical predictions.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide expert technical input on structural integrity.
  • Identify and implement improvements to analysis methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Perform engineering duties involving thermodynamics, aero-thermal analysis, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, aero-mechanics, and acoustics.
  • Design, develop, and test power plants, aircraft, and parts.
  • Establish specifications, perform analysis, and conduct performance tests.
  • Predict new and derivative noise levels and design vehicle and system elements to ensure compliance with noise regulations, specifications, and guarantee requirements.
  • Perform work involving aerodynamics, stability and control, flutter and vibration, landing loads, structures, hydrodynamics, propulsion systems, fuels and combustion, aero-acoustics, heat transfer, and instrumentation.
