The Aerospace Quality Engineer evaluates and appraises supplier manufacturing capabilities against documented commodity checklists and QMS special processes. The role establishes part-quality evaluation plans across the full lifecycle, from material requests through receipt, and resolves and dispositions nonconforming materials while ensuring adequate corrective action. It is supplier-focused and requires strong oral and written communication to manage supplier quality assurance and support compliance on major programs from design through production. The engineer evaluates manufacturing functions, processes, inspection and testing methods, mechanisms, and equipment; performs statistical analysis of products or materials that fail to meet standards; and participates in QMS audits to identify process deficiencies and corrections. The role ensures corrective actions meet reliability standards and documentation requirements, and interacts with design, incoming materials, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control, and research and development. It applies lean and Six Sigma quality engineering methods, with hands-on knowledge of mechanical machine-shop components and assembly, subsystem, and system-level concepts. The role places strong emphasis on RCCA and CAPA, FMEA, process improvement, and process standardization. The position typically works Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional extended hours and weekend overtime. Work is performed in typical office conditions with the quality management team, TRIGO colleagues, and external customers, and includes supplier visits and occasional long-distance driving. Physical activities may include prolonged sitting, light lifting, walking, standing, reaching, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The work environment’s noise level is usually moderate to high.
