About The Position

The Quality Engineer evaluates and appraises supplier manufacturing capabilities against documented commodity checklists and quality management system (QMS) special processes. The role establishes part-quality evaluation plans across the full lifecycle, from materials requests through receipt, and resolves and dispositions nonconforming materials while ensuring adequate corrective action. This is a supplier-focused position requiring strong oral and written communication skills to manage supplier quality assurance and compliance across organizational levels. The Quality Engineer evaluates manufacturing, inspection, and testing processes and equipment; performs statistical analysis of products or materials that fail to meet standards; participates in QMS audits; and ensures corrective measures meet reliability standards and documentation requirements. The role also works with design, incoming materials, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control, and research and development as they relate to product or process quality. The position applies lean and Six Sigma quality engineering methods and requires hands-on knowledge of machine-shop components, assemblies, subsystems, and systems. It has a strong emphasis on root cause and corrective action (RCCA) and corrective and preventive action (CAPA), as well as familiarity with failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), process improvement, and process standardization. The work is performed in typical office conditions while collaborating with the quality management team, TRIGO colleagues, and external customers. The role may involve travel by car to suppliers. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; occasional extended hours and weekend overtime may be required. Pay is listed at $35 to $42 per hour.
