The Quality Engineer evaluates and appraises supplier manufacturing capabilities against documented commodity checklists and QMS special-process requirements. The role establishes full-life-cycle part quality evaluation plans, from material requests through receipt, and resolves and disposes of non-conforming materials while ensuring adequate corrective action. It is highly supplier-focused and requires strong written and verbal communication to manage supplier quality assurance and support compliance across major programs from design through production. The position evaluates manufacturing functions, inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; performs statistical analysis of products or materials that fail to meet standards; participates in QMS audits; and verifies corrective measures and documentation. The engineer works with design, incoming materials, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control, and research and development as they relate to product or process quality. The role applies lean and Six Sigma quality-engineering methodologies and requires hands-on knowledge of mechanical machine-shop components and assembly, subsystem, and system-level concepts, with strong emphasis on RCCA and CAPA, FMEA, process improvement, and process standardization. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; occasional extended hours and weekend overtime may be required. Work is conducted in typical office conditions with the Quality management team, TRIGO colleagues, and external customers, as well as at supplier sites as needed. The work includes frequent use of hands and fingers, occasional standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Walking may total approximately 1–2 miles per day; occasional long-distance driving to suppliers and lifting or moving up to 20 pounds are required. The work environment’s noise level is usually moderate to high.
