Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Strong shop mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, read and interpret blueprints.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous painting and/or powder coating experience using a handheld spray gun preferred.
  • Detailed masking experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years of on-the-job experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Spray coating application with a gravity-fed handheld spray gun in a confined space using a rotating shop stand.
  • Mixing, thinning, priming, baking, painting, and drying of coatings.
  • Monitoring coating application and adherence according to work instructions and customer specifications.
  • Performing tasks such as masking and preparation in accordance with work instructions and customer specifications.
  • Ensuring even coating application to parts as directed by the traveler.
  • Performing all work in accordance with plant safety rules and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Performing routine preventative maintenance on paint booths, cure ovens, and other labor work as required.
  • Maintaining and cleaning painting equipment and tools.
  • Following proper waste disposal procedures for hazardous materials.
  • Preparing necessary quality documents and confirming the quality of own work using inspection tools.
  • Adhering to all 5s / CPEX policies and maintaining a continuous improvement mindset.
