About The Position

A Painter is responsible for applying powder coat with precision and consistency in accordance with company and customer specifications. This role involves operating and maintaining paint equipment, preparing parts for coating, performing color changes, and conducting quality checks to ensure adherence to standards. The painter will also be responsible for maintaining a clean work environment, troubleshooting equipment issues, and following all safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Operates and maintains paint guns, spray equipment, reclaim equipment, and other tools in the booth according to the manufacturer instructions and company procedures
  • Applies powder coating to metal parts with precision, ensuring even coverage and adherence to quality standards
  • Monitors the temperature, humidity, and other environmental factors in the paint booth to ensure optimal painting conditions
  • Ensures proper preparation of parts before painting, including masking, cleaning, and inspecting for defects
  • Perform powder coat color changes as necessary, according to daily production plan
  • Refilling the powder coat hopper when necessary
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the paint booth and immediate working area
  • Conducts quality checks after painting to ensure surfaces are smooth, uniform, and meet internal and external customer specifications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to maintain workflow and minimize downtime
  • Additional duties as assigned
