About The Position

The Aircraft Interior Designer is responsible for the conceptual and detailed design of aircraft cabin interiors, ensuring functional, aesthetic, ergonomic, and regulatory compliance with applicable aviation standards. This role focuses on developing interior layouts and components—including cabins, seats, galleys, lavatories, and monuments—while collaborating closely with engineering, integration, suppliers, and program teams to support aircraft development and customization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in either Industrial Design, Product Design, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in aircraft interior design, cabin layout development, or aerospace product design.
  • Familiarity with cabin interiors such as seating, galleys, lavatories, monuments, and cabin linings.
  • Proficiency with CAD (CATIA V5) and design tools used in aerospace or industrial design environments.
  • Understanding of ergonomic principles, materials, and manufacturing considerations for aircraft interiors.
  • Working knowledge of aviation safety and certification constraints impacting interior design.
  • Strong creativity balanced with technical problem‑solving ability.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Clear communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in English and French required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain aircraft interior designs from concept through detailed definition.
  • Create interior layouts and component designs for cabin zones, seating, galleys, lavatories, monuments, linings, and related interior elements.
  • Ensure designs meet ergonomic, aesthetic, functional, and customer requirements.
  • Support cabin customization and customer‑specific interior solutions where required.
  • Participate in design and program milestone reviews, presenting design concepts, layouts, and detailed solutions.
  • Review design feasibility and compliance with technical, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Incorporate feedback from engineering, integration, certification, and manufacturing teams into design updates.
  • Interface with interior integration, systems engineering, structures, safety, and certification teams to ensure design compatibility and integration.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and external partners to align design intent with technical, industrial, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Support communication between design, engineering, and program management stakeholders.
  • Support design changes throughout the product lifecycle, including updates driven by program, customer, or regulatory requirements.
  • Provide design inputs for change requests (e.g., PCRs / RFCs) and support change impact assessments as required.
  • Ensure design updates remain aligned with configuration baselines and program objectives.
  • Produce and maintain design documentation, layouts, drawings, mock‑ups, and presentations related to aircraft interiors.
  • Ensure designs comply with internal design standards, industry regulations, and certification requirements.
  • Contribute design data to certification, qualification, and compliance documentation.
