About The Position

As an Aerospace Engineering Intern at United Launch Alliance, you'll gain hands-on experience and will have the opportunity to perform analysis on existing flight hardware, assist in the design and development of future hardware, perform analysis for both completed and future launches, test, systems engineering, mission integration, quality assurance, system safety, launch operations and production operations. You will also engage in data analysis, analysis methodology improvement projects, software improvement projects, trade studies, design for manufacturer studies, create or modify tool designs, process cause and corrective actions for non-conformances, maintain production work instructions, supplier management, and component or integrated systems test. Additionally, you will support experienced engineers in their assignments, shadow actual operations, and undertake unique assignments that support larger projects, gaining insight into the day-to-day workings of engineering. Interns will also have opportunities to participate in activities and events to build a strong network within the ULA community and with fellow interns.

Requirements

  • At minimum completed Sophomore year of college or university by the time of the summer internship assignment.
  • High School/GED.
  • Minimum college GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale at the time of application; cumulative, no rounding.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and motorized vehicle transportation if assigned an internship in Alabama, California, Florida, or Pueblo, Colorado. For Denver, Colorado and Washington, DC, motorized transportation is recommended.
  • At minimum, actively pursuing a degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field from an accredited college or university.
  • Must have plans to be enrolled in classes during Fall Semester 2027.
  • Ability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during the Summer of 2027.
  • Working knowledge of basic engineering application tools like MATLAB, LabVIEW, Mathcad, NX, Creo or CFD Software, and other design and analysis tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Effective presentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to complete an internship at any of the ULA's locations: Denver, CO; Pueblo, CO; Cape Canaveral, FL; Decatur, AL; Vandenberg, CA.
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined in ITAR 22 CFR 120.62 (e.g., U.S. Citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or protected individual).
