About The Position

Chromalloy is currently seeking qualified candidates for a CNC Machinist- 2nd Shift opening to join our Production & Maintenance organization. The 2nd shift schedule is Monday through Friday 3:00pm – 11:00pm. Candidates MUST BE ABLE TO TRAIN ON 1ST SHIFT MONDAY- FRIDAY 7:00AM to 3:00PM. This is a Union position with Local 475. Rate of pay is $35.71/hr with an additional 10% premium for 2nd shift.

Requirements

Must be able to read, write and work with Work Instructions.
Must have five years machine shop experience.
HS Diploma or equivalent required
Must be fluent in English, (speaking, reading, writing)

Nice To Haves

Experience with internal and external grinders, VTL or other metalworking machines desired.
Mechanical background preferred
Ability to use hand tools and gauges (previous experience preferred)

Responsibilities

Set up and operate standard manual machine tools such as Milling Machines (vertical and horizontal), engine lathes, surface grinders.
Operate and set-up one or more of the following: CNC Grinders, CNC Milling Machines, CNC Lathe or any other CNC metal-working machine where CNC control knowledge may be directly applied to CNY machine tools operation.
Apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties and layout machining procedures.
Read and understand blueprints, sketches and description of parts to be worked on or replaced.
Measure, mark and scribe dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.
Verify dimensions and alignment with measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges and gauge blocks.
