About The Position

The Aerial Lift Trimmer performs professional tree maintenance and vegetation management around utility lines. The role requires previous experience operating an aerial lift trimmer or Jarraff and includes preparing the truck and materials, clearing trees and brush from utility lines, removing branches and trees, and cleaning up and disposing of debris. The employee maintains and tracks tools and equipment, continues developing tree-maintenance skills, and supports other crew members in daily work. The position also includes protecting employees and the public by following and reinforcing safe work practices, maintaining an orderly work area, and communicating frequently with coworkers. Storm-work duties may be required. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring a background check and drug screen as applicable. Employees must meet I-9 work-authorization requirements.

Requirements

• Previous experience operating an aerial lift trimmer or Jarraff is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen as required for this safety-sensitive position.
• Must meet I-9 work-authorization requirements.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred.
• CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow and help enforce safe practices.
• Assist in preparing the truck and materials needed for each day at the foreperson’s direction.
• Perform professional tree-maintenance activities as directed.
• Clear and trim trees and brush away from utility lines, and remove branches and trees.
• Clean up and dispose of debris.
• Maintain and keep track of tools and equipment used in daily work.
• Continue observing and practicing climbing and tree-maintenance skills to improve professional skills.
• Assist other crew members in all aspects of daily work.
• Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area by enforcing safe job practices, keeping the work area clean and orderly, and maintaining frequent voice communication with coworkers.
• Perform storm-work duties as needed.
