The Advisory Services Consultant - EDS – Remote is part of the Optum Advisory - Enterprise Delivery Services (EDS) consulting practice. Enterprise Delivery Services (EDS) is a rapidly growing business that serves clients across the health care ecosystem. Engagements are delivered through a range of structured consulting delivery models that are tailored to client needs, scope, and organizational maturity. Our consultants are engaged to support both internal teams within UnitedHealth Group and external commercial clients in one or more of the following areas: Healthcare Consulting Project and Program Management Business Analysis Product Management Process Transformation Change Management Quality Assurance Data Analysis and Reporting AI‑driven innovation and solution enablement Training, Learning and Development You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in Project and/or Product Management role within a healthcare environment
3+ years of Process Improvement experience
2+ years of building/creating project deliverables with the ability to manage complex work-streams in a client facing role
2+ years of experience working in an Agile environment
1+ years of experience with CA Agile, Rally, JIRA, or similar application
Experience using AI-enabled tools (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, or advanced analytics platforms) to enhance productivity and deliverables
Based in greater Minneapolis, MN OR ability to relocate at own expense to Minnesota OR ability to travel up to 25%25

Nice To Haves

Agile / Scrum certified
Experience with a nationally recognized consulting firm or a healthcare payer or provider system
Experience in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Experience in digital health or consumer digital products or services
Experience in a large matrixed environment
Demonstrated ability to work in a highly technical, fast-paced environment
Proven solid interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

Collaborate with business and technology teams to identify issues, establish objectives, develop recommendations, and implement solutions for our clients
Perform project management duties including work plan development, stakeholder management, and creation of engagement artifacts for clients
Leverage AI‑enabled tools to support and accelerate consulting delivery activities while improving efficiency and outcomes
Monitor, manage, and document project milestones, deliverables, and outcomes throughout the project lifecycle, proactively identifying emerging issues and driving appropriate actions to maintain project alignment and momentum.
Develop, communicate, and execute comprehensive project risk and issue management plans, including mitigation and escalation strategies to minimize impact and ensure successful delivery
Drive outcomes without direct authority, engaging team members in a cross-functional environment
Conduct research studies that may include collecting, analyzing, trending, and presenting data and recommendations to management
Define, develop, and document business requirements to ensure clients’ needs are captured and delivered
Work closely with Developers, Quality Assurance Analysts, Architects, Business Partners, and other Technology teams to ensure requirements and design are completely understood
Assist in quality assurance and user acceptance testing by writing test scripts, executing test cases, and documenting defects
Effectively build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients
Provide clear communications (oral and written) and share knowledge at all levels of the organization
Ensure that the engagement performs consistent with expected client value and internal financial targets
