About The Position

This position sits within our Global Trade Management group supporting US ECCN and HS classification for US, Canada, LATAM, EMEA and APAC. In addition to supporting the client, you may also contribute to internal auditing of junior team members HS and ECCN classifications as well. The ideal candidate is proficient in both HS and ECCN classification, with strong customer service experience. This position is remote working Saturday and Sunday, with flexibility to choose the remainder weekdays you would like to work.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with US ECCN and HS classification
  • Demonstrated experience in a client‑facing or advisory role preferred.
  • Understanding of Customs Regulations: import/export laws, and international trade agreements. This includes familiarity with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) for accurate classification of goods.
  • Trade Compliance Principles: Foundation in broader trade compliance, including valuation, duty rates, and trade programs (e.g., Free Trade Agreements)
  • Given the potential for challenges in obtaining information or resolving complex issues, a candidate should be persistent in pursuing necessary details and proactive in implementing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize trade applications and software to analyze import/export data. Perform HS and ECCN classification, ensuring compliance with US Customs and regulatory requirements
  • As part of a team, work to ensure client satisfaction is met with classification, compliance, documentation, auditing, and coordination.
  • Act as the client‑facing contact, providing guidance, answering inquiries, and ensuring a high‑quality service experience.
  • Analyze and interpret data, documentation, and regulatory information to support compliant decision‑making.
  • Develop, track, and present metrics and performance insights
  • Identify compliance risks, recommend corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with operations, compliance, and regulatory teams to resolve issues and enhance processes.
  • Stay current on regulatory changes, and industry best practices, proactively advising clients and internal teams.
