Requirements

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a specialization in Human Resources, Business Administration, or another specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience providing advisory services on HR issues.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in disability management, leave administration, or workplace accommodations.
  • Experience supporting the development or delivery of programs, policies, and procedures in an HR environment.
  • Experience in forming, leading, and facilitating meetings and work groups.
  • Experience managing multiple files in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use a variety of software applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Canada Labour Code, the Canadian Human Rights Act, and the Accessible Canada Act.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task; plan and organize work.
  • Ability to influence and build strong client relationships with managers and employees.
  • High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and empathy.
  • Sound judgement and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Reliability security clearance.
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP) designation or equivalent
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation

Responsibilities

  • Providing advice, guidance, and recommendations across a broad range of human resources programs and services.
  • Managing employee leave administration, accommodations, return to work processes, and disability management.
  • Leading onboarding for new hires.
  • Providing HR support across the employee lifecycle.
  • Providing essential HR support across the organization ensuring alignment with all HR programs, legislative requirements, organizational priorities and operational needs.
  • Performing all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.
