About The Position

At Doctors of BC, the Advisor, Billing Support plays a crucial role in providing analytical functions and support to the Billing Support team. This position primarily focuses on offering billing support and education to physicians, and undertaking ad-hoc projects as needed. The role demands strong skills in research, analysis, written and verbal communication, and front-line service to family physicians (FPs). Collaboration across departments and with partner organizations is essential. The Advisor will support the implementation of the Longitudinal Family Physician (LFP) Payment Model and the delivery of FPSC Physician Payments by providing direct billing support to physicians, developing and improving billing education services, and working with billing educators to create and refine resources. Engagement and collaboration with internal teams, partners, and government are key aspects of this role. The Advisor will develop expertise in the LFP Payment Model and FPSC Physician Payments to effectively address billing inquiries and maintain/develop resources like FAQs, billing guides, presentations, and communications materials. Working with subject matter experts and physician billing educators, the Advisor will develop and deliver billing education. This role is also a key staff support for billing advisory groups, bringing forward issues related to LFP billing and FPSC payments. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong customer-service orientation, excellent communication skills, keen attention to detail, logical reasoning, the ability to evaluate reliable resources, translate technical material for diverse audiences, and possess project coordination skills.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate university degree in a recognized and related discipline, AND up to two years of related experience; OR have an equivalent level of related work experience in lieu of post-secondary education.
  • Strong orientation toward customer-service.
  • Superior interpersonal, oral and written communication and relationship management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to translate technical information to various audiences.
  • Excellent skills in critical thinking and analysis, verbal and written communications, and interpersonal interactions.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to apply problem solving skills with a high degree of tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent writing skills, coupled with a proven ability to develop clear, concise, and comprehensive correspondence, reports, and briefing notes.
  • Ability to synthesize and critically appraise feedback from multiple sources.
  • Interest and experience in process improvement.
  • Project management experience, including implementing timelines, estimating and monitoring budgets, and identifying risks.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of the team.
