Shields Advanced Therapies is a new platform launched by Shields Health Innovations, focused on providing commercial, operational, and financial solutions to health systems for the acceleration of cell and gene therapies. The business is led by a seasoned leadership team and emphasizes culture, hospital partnerships, and scaling better care for patients at the lowest cost possible. This role offers the growth potential of an early-stage startup with the backing of a proven team and existing commercial traction, including partnerships with top US academic medical centers. The Advanced Therapies Intake & Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for scheduling inpatient and outpatient advanced therapies, including bone marrow transplant, bispecific antibody, and CAR-T therapies, along with all supporting treatments across the patient care journey. This role requires a working knowledge of how care pathways unfold across multiple advanced therapy types, and the judgment to manage competing scheduling constraints without compromising the patient's treatment timeline. The Coordinator proactively identifies and escalates potential risks or conflicts in patient scheduling before they impact care, and coordinates schedules across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical functions, including physicians, nursing teams, pharmacy, and financial clearance. Because scheduling changes can ripple across a patient's broader care plan, this role also requires the ability to anticipate downstream impacts-understanding how both clinical adjustments and non-clinical factors, such as insurance or coverage changes, can affect a patient's treatment schedule, and coordinating proactively to keep care on track. This role requires strong organizational discipline and the interpersonal ability to work effectively across clinical, operational, and administrative teams in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The ideal candidate brings prior oncology scheduling experience-ideally within an academic medical center-and is eager to rapidly learn the operational nuances of advanced therapies such as cell and gene therapy, and how those nuances shape patient data and scheduling requirements.
