About The Position

The Advanced Technician performs vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with dealership and factory standards. The role builds customer loyalty by developing trust and ensuring confidence in AutoNation’s care for vehicle safety and reliability. The technician works with customers, service advisors, other technicians, parts associates, sales associates, and managers. Performance is measured by achieving targeted production and Customer Satisfaction Index goals. AutoNation offers factory training, OEM certification support, and career growth opportunities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Automotive technical training, varying based on store needs.
• Attention to detail.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record that can be maintained.
• Passion for cars and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and maintenance work listed on repair orders efficiently and accurately, following dealership and factory standards.
• Communicate regularly with the Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose vehicle malfunctions and perform authorized repairs.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and make recommendations to support vehicle safety and reliability.
• Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintain an inventory of normal technician tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as special tools.
• Stay current with factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training as appropriate.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.
