About The Position

The Advanced Technician performs vehicle repair and maintenance according to repair orders and dealership and factory standards. The role diagnoses vehicle malfunctions, completes authorized repairs, conducts multi-point inspections, and documents work performed. The technician works with Customers, Service Advisors, Parts Associates, other Technicians, Sales Associates, and Managers to support production, customer communication, vehicle safety and reliability, and customer loyalty. The position also involves maintaining normal technician tools, keeping up with factory technical bulletins, and participating in factory-sponsored training as appropriate. Performance is measured by targeted production and Customer Satisfaction Index.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Automotive technical training, varying based on store needs.
• Attention to detail.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Valid in-state driver's license and an acceptable, safe driving record that is maintained.
• Passion for cars and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and maintenance work described on repair orders efficiently and accurately, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Communicate regularly with the Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose the cause of vehicle malfunctions and perform repairs when authorized by the Customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and make appropriate recommendations to support vehicle safety and reliability.
• Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintain an inventory of normal technician tools not inventoried by the Service department as special tools.
• Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training as appropriate.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.
