Advanced Technician, Compounding Process Technology

About The Position

Celanese is seeking an Advanced Technician, Compounding Process Technology, to join its team at the Florence site. This Monday-through-Friday, day-shift role sets up and operates extrusion processes while maintaining product quality, safety, and production records. The technician works with supervisors, maintenance, safety personnel, and other operators to address process issues and helps keep the work area and equipment clean.

Requirements

High school education or GED; five years of manufacturing experience may be considered as meeting the education requirement.
Valid driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Extrusion experience preferred.
Previous forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Set up the extruder to run products in accordance with standard operating conditions while minimizing downtime and product loss.
Monitor and troubleshoot the extrusion process.
Stop the process if safety or quality issues arise and participate in problem-solving with the supervisor, maintenance, safety personnel, and other operators.
Safely operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
Participate in cleaning the work area.
Complete product turnarounds, including cleaning the extruder barrel and screws, feeder, pelletizer, classifier, reclaimer system, automatic bagger, and feed and product totes to prevent contamination.
Maintain records, including the run changeover packet, instructions, notes, and pictures of the run.
Use SAP and CHIP to document orders or NPD requests.
Review and understand standard operating procedures and hazardous communication and waste disposal procedures.
Comply with safety and health policies and procedures, participate in company-sponsored safety programs and activities, and report conditions or actions that could create hazards in the plant.
