About The Position

Celanese is seeking an Advanced Technician, Compounding Process Technology to join the team at its Florence site. This is a Monday through Friday, day-shift position. The technician sets up and monitors extruders, troubleshoots the extrusion process, supports safety and quality problem-solving, and performs cleaning, product changeovers, and documentation. The role also requires safe forklift operation and compliance with plant safety, health, hazardous communication, and waste disposal procedures.

Requirements

• High school education or GED; five years of manufacturing experience may be considered as meeting the education requirement.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Extrusion experience preferred.
• Previous forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up the extruder to run products according to standard operating conditions while minimizing downtime and product loss.
• Monitor and troubleshoot the extrusion process.
• Stop the process if safety or quality issues arise and participate in problem-solving with the supervisor, maintenance, safety personnel, and other operators.
• Safely operate sit-down and stand-up forklift trucks.
• Participate in cleaning the work area.
• Complete product turnarounds, including cleaning the extruder barrel and screws, feeder, pelletizer, classifier, reclaimer system, automatic bagger, and feed and product totes to prevent product contamination.
• Maintain records, including the run changeover packet, instructions, notes, and pictures of the run; use SAP and CHIP to document orders or NPD requests.
• Review and understand policies and procedures for standard operating procedures, hazardous communication, and waste disposal.
• Comply with safety and health policies and procedures, participate in company-sponsored safety programs and activities, and report conditions or actions that could create hazards in the plant.
