About The Position

As an Advanced Systems Engineer at Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, you will use Requirements Based Engineering (RBE) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to support the specification development, design, modeling, and integration of aircraft systems. This hands-on technical role focuses on enabling rapid, traceable, and scalable system development through digital tools. You will work in a multidisciplinary team to develop and maintain system models using CAMEO and SysML, promote digital engineering practices, and maintain system-level traceability across complex systems. You will collaborate with system leads, hardware teams, and test teams to capture system architecture, decompose requirements, and validate system behavior through modeling. The role also includes contributing to a strong, diverse team by recruiting talent, identifying and developing successors, supporting retention and engagement, and fostering an inclusive culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • 3–5 years of experience in systems engineering and MBSE roles.
  • Hands-on experience with CAMEO Systems Modeler and a strong understanding of SysML.
  • Working knowledge of requirements tools such as DOORS NG and Jira.
  • Must be a U.S. person, defined as a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or a person with protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience modeling complex system architectures and interfaces.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering processes, the V-model, and lifecycle traceability.
  • Understanding of Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) principles.
  • Familiarity with ARP4754, ARP4761, MIL-STD-881, MIL-STD-882, and system safety frameworks.
  • Exposure to airworthiness certification or flight test support.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain SysML-based CAMEO models representing system architecture, behavior, interfaces, and requirements across the aircraft engine lifecycle.
  • Translate high-level system and mission requirements into structured models and ensure end-to-end traceability using DOORS NG, Jira, or similar tools.
  • Model and manage system and subsystem interfaces to support hardware and software integration across aircraft, propulsion, avionics, and sensors.
  • Collaborate with design and test teams to promote consistent use of system models for verification planning and design validation.
  • Support system integration by using models to inform development, identify dependencies, and prepare for testing.
  • Generate documentation for airworthiness, safety, and programmatic reviews using MBSE artifacts, system models, and Microsoft tools.
  • Advocate MBSE best practices, improve modeling workflows, and support adoption of CAMEO and related tools across engineering teams.
  • Support recruiting, successor development, employee retention and engagement, and an inclusive culture.

Benefits

  • Employer-subsidized medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • 401(k) match.
  • Flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts.
  • Employee assistance program.
  • Educational assistance.
  • Parental leave.
  • 12 paid holidays.
  • Paid time off for vacation, personal, and sick time.
  • Performance-driven salary.
