About The Position

As an Advanced Systems Engineer at Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, you will use Requirements Based Engineering (RBE) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to support specification development, design, modeling, and integration of aircraft systems. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to develop and maintain system models using CAMEO and SysML, advance digital engineering practices, and ensure system-level traceability across complex systems. This hands-on technical role focuses on enabling rapid, traceable, and scalable system development through digital tools. You will collaborate with system leads and hardware and test teams to capture system architecture, decompose requirements, and validate system behavior through modeling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • 3–5 years of experience in systems engineering and MBSE roles.
  • Hands-on experience with CAMEO Systems Modeler and a strong understanding of SysML.
  • Working knowledge of requirements tools such as DOORS NG and Jira.
  • Must be a U.S. person: a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience modeling complex system architectures and interfaces.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering processes, the V-model, and lifecycle traceability.
  • Understanding of modular open systems architecture (MOSA) principles.
  • Familiarity with ARP4754, ARP4761, MIL-STD-881, MIL-STD-882, and system safety frameworks.
  • Exposure to airworthiness certification or flight test support.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain SysML-based models using CAMEO to represent system architecture, behavior, interfaces, and requirements across the aircraft engine lifecycle.
  • Translate high-level system and mission requirements into structured models and ensure end-to-end traceability through DOORS NG, Jira, or similar tools.
  • Model and manage system and subsystem interfaces to support hardware and software integration across aircraft, propulsion, avionics, and sensors.
  • Collaborate with design and test teams to support consistent use of system models for verification planning and design validation.
  • Support integration efforts by using system models to inform development, identify dependencies, and support test readiness.
  • Generate documentation supporting airworthiness, safety, and programmatic reviews using MBSE artifacts, system models, and Microsoft tools.
  • Advocate for MBSE best practices, improve modeling workflows, and support adoption of CAMEO and related tools across engineering teams.
  • As described for people leaders at Honeywell, help build a strong, diverse team by recruiting talent, identifying and developing successors, driving retention and engagement, and fostering an inclusive culture.

Benefits

  • Employer-subsidized medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, and health savings accounts.
  • Employee assistance program and educational assistance.
  • Parental leave and 12 paid holidays.
  • Paid time off for vacation, personal, and sick time.
