Advanced Step Apprentice (3rd Step or above)/Journeyman Lineman-Minot, ND
About The Position
Xcel Energy is seeking one or more Advanced Step Apprentice (3rd Step or above)/Journeyman Lineman to join their team at the Minot Service Center in Minot, North Dakota. This role involves performing all duties of the Lineman Classification, including work on overhead and underground electric distribution and transmission systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, provide quality customer service, be self-motivated, and possess a positive attitude. The base rate of pay for Journeyman Lineman is $62.27 per hour, with Advanced Step Apprentices earning a percentage of this rate based on their step.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a degree/diploma from an accepted Line School or a state-issued Journeyman certificate for an Advanced step position.
- Possess a state-issued Journeyman certificate and pass a company skills assessment for a Journeyman position.
- Meet driver qualification requirements, including the possession of a valid Commercial Class A Driver’s License.
- Physically capable of performing all aspects of electric overhead and underground distribution, construction, operations, and maintenance work.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Presently qualified to be a 3rd Step Apprentice Lineman or higher.
- Self-motivated and possess a positive attitude.
- Demonstrated commitment to work safely and productively.
- Must live within 20 miles of the service center.
- Subject to D.O.T. random drug and alcohol testing program.
Responsibilities
- Perform all duties of the Lineman Classification.
- Work on overhead and underground electric distribution and transmission systems.
- Participate in after-hours emergency callouts.
- Adhere to cybersecurity policies, standards, and best practices.
