About The Position

As an Advanced Software Engineer here at Honeywell, you will lead advanced software development projects, enhance and maintain critical software components, and troubleshoot complex issues. Your expertise will optimize software performance and drive innovation. You will report directly to our Software Engineer Manager, and you’ll work out of our Pittsford, NY or Atlanta, GA location on a Hybrid work schedule. Honeywell’s Security and Access Solutions business provides high-value security products and services that are critical for buildings around the globe. Building operators and security teams across dynamically evolving verticals depend on our mobile- and cloud-enabled technologies for access control, intrusion detection, and locking solutions to help create safer and more efficient facilities. We are seeking a skilled software engineer with a strong background in automation and orchestration, along with a passion for enhancing developer experience, to join our Cloud Solutions group. In this role, you will build internal platforms, developer tooling, CI/CD systems, automation frameworks, and engineering workflows that enable product teams to deliver software faster and more reliably. The ideal candidate is self-directed, able to navigate ambiguity, and capable of driving technical initiatives with minimal supervision. This role requires collaboration with a global team to support our Azure-hosted security products and platforms. The person in this position will work closely with the engineering team throughout all stages of product development. The contributions of this role will be vital in ensuring the highest levels of reliability, availability, and performance as demanded by our customers who rely on our advanced physical security solutions.

Requirements

6+ years of software engineering experience.
3+ years of demonstrated experience building automated delivery pipelines.
3+ years developing or maintaining software in at least one language (TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, Python, Java etc.) RESTful API endpoints to facilitate seamless data exchange and integration between various applications and services.
shell scripting (PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
3+ years with event-driven and microservices architectures.

Nice To Haves

BS Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field required, significant technical experience can be substituted.
Experience with developer productivity tooling, platform engineering, observability, or internal developer platforms.
Experience developing and maintaining applications on Microsoft Azure.
Experience with PowerShell, NodeJS, Kusto, or Groovy.
Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cosmos, Dynamo, Redis or similar).
Knowledge of both serverless and container-based application deployment models.

Responsibilities

Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.

Troubleshoot and resolve deployment issues across both development and production environments.
Leverage data and metrics to support decision making.
