About The Position

Perform advanced robotic and automation development for new model development and kaizen activity in the plants.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. or comparable from country of origin.
  • Associates or Bachelor Degree and or 7+ years direct and practical experience required.
  • Possess mechanical ability.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and work with vendors for robotic and automation fixture development.
  • Design and work with vendors to develop supporting equipment for robot and automation development.
  • Design and work with other Nisco functional teams (NPDD, PDD, Plant Process Eng, and Plant EHS) to assure advanced process development meets safety, customer, and company requirements.
  • Utilize advanced software (3D Modeling or similar) as required to develop any items needed for robots and automation processes.
  • Develop and Modify computer-controlled robotic movements.
  • Ability to use PLC’s for programming automated controls and integration.
  • May perform preventative or corrective maintenance on robotics systems or components.
  • Responsible for developing new and advanced processes for new and current products that are manually accomplished currently.
  • Travel to vendors/customers/other Nisco Functional groups for collaborative development will be required.
  • Weekend/Evening worktime and development when equipment is available outside normal MP working time will be required to complete development of new robotic and automation processes.
  • Support current or previous robotic or automation developed cells when needed for advanced support.
  • Align, fit, or assemble component part using hand tools, power tools, fixtures and templates.
  • Drives safety and environmental improvements in the department with all associates in mind.
  • Performs job tasks with safety, honesty, confidentiality and professionalism.
