Estes develops and manufactures exceptional zero-emission power systems that unlock true scale and performance for the electrification of the commercial vehicle and equipment markets. Estes will democratize electrification by enabling powertrain solutions at better cost and performance than diesel solutions, for both high-volume established OEMs making thousands of vehicles per year, and industry newcomers making next generation electrified vehicles and equipment. This role focuses on the development of new manufacturing lines, including equipment and process. The engineer will conceive, design, and implement new processes and equipment, collaborate with suppliers for advanced equipment and methods, and design in-house fixtures and tooling for prototype and manufacturing. Key responsibilities include developing battery pack assembly line DFM, automation, and process projects, specifying equipment, and developing processes based on product design requirements and tolerances. The role champions manufacturing equipment and processes from concept through factory launch, conceives and implements new processes for high-quality battery manufacturing, and develops equipment calibration and validation plans. Additionally, the engineer will work cross-functionally, providing light project management of development schedules, creating work instructions, procuring manufacturing tools, and ensuring equipment development launch success through analysis and collaboration.
