About The Position

Help build the technologies, products, and services that support our nation’s security. At General Dynamics Mission Systems, you’ll work alongside talented teams developing advanced solutions that make a meaningful impact. As an Advanced Program Performance Management (PPM) Specialist, you’ll drive the performance and success of mission-critical programs. You’ll partner with program teams, finance, customers, and subcontractors to manage cost, schedule, risk, and overall program performance. Using program management best practices and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tools, you’ll turn data into clear insights, support informed decisions, and help keep programs on track. NOTE: This is a PPM/EVM role, it is NOT a PM or PMP role. What you’ll experience: A collaborative role where you work closely with program leaders, finance teams, customers, and subcontractors. Ownership of program planning and performance activities, including schedules, budgets, forecasts, risks, and customer deliverables. The opportunity to create and manage key program tools and plans, such as work breakdown structures (WBS), integrated master plans (IMP), and integrated master schedules (IMS). A chance to guide program teams through EVMS processes, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. Meaningful work across one or more contracts, typically valued up to $20M annually, with occasional travel to support proposals and programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • Experience developing and managing program budgets, financial forecasts, estimates at completion (EACs), and cost performance data.
  • Strong knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), scheduling principles and tools, and program management best practices, including PMBOK.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project to analyze data and communicate clear recommendations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities independently and collaboratively.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed within our facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced ability to analyze schedules, including critical paths, resource loading, schedule health, quality checks, and risk analysis.
  • Experience developing and managing EVMS cost data, including time-phased budgets, estimates at completion (EACs), management reserve, and cost performance reporting.
  • Experience integrating cost, schedule, and material data from subcontractors into overall program performance reporting.
  • A track record of mentoring teams on program management tools, EVMS processes, and practical ways of improving performance.
  • Experience supporting defense or federal contracting programs and working with DCMA audit requirements.
  • Curiosity and initiative in applying AI, new tools, or improved processes to strengthen program performance management.
