About The Position

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) delivers medical care to a wide variety of patients, examining and treating patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with other health care professionals. The role supports illness and injury care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. The APRN may prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests, and advises patients about continuing care.

The position is with Diagnostic Radiology at SoleMia. Duties may expand to include other responsibilities as necessary.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Valid State of Florida APRN license.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents complete physical examinations and comprehensive health histories.
• Independently performs age-appropriate histories and physical examinations for patients.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests based on patients’ age-specific needs.
• Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
• Implements interventions to support patients in regaining or maintaining physiologic stability.
• Assists in providing care in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations.
• Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
• Facilitates patients’ transitions within and between health care settings, including admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
• Facilitates staff, patient, and family decision-making by providing educational tools.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
