About The Position

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Diagnostic Radiology delivers medical care to a wide variety of patients. The APRN examines and treats patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with other health care professionals, ensuring appropriate illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. The APRN may prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests, and advises patients about continuing care. The APRN performs age-appropriate histories and physical examinations, orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests, prescribes treatment modalities, implements interventions to support physiologic stability, monitors their effectiveness, and facilitates transitions between health care settings. The APRN collaborates with multidisciplinary team members, supports staff, patient, and family decision-making through education, and follows applicable facility, state, federal, University, and unit-level policies and procedures. Duties may be expanded as necessary. The University of Miami describes UHealth as South Florida's only university-based health system, providing patient care supported by research and medical education.
