About The Position

UW Medical Centers have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join their Neonatal Intensive Care team. The APP will provide exceptional, evidence-based advanced practice medical care to high-risk and well newborns and their families. Requirements

  • Current, valid Washington State license as Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C)
  • Current Washington State Prescriptive Authority License
  • ARNP: Current NCC certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
  • PA: National board certification (ANA or NAPNAP)
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation certification
  • Master’s degree from an accredited program
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an NNP or PA in a Level III NICU

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive neonatal care under the direct supervision of the attending neonatologist
  • Function independently within scope of practice
  • Ensure continuity of care for neonatal patients and families
  • Bill for services rendered, as appropriate to role
  • Support and educate residents
  • Train and onboard new Advanced Practice Providers in neonatal care
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership
  • Promote professional development of Neonatal APPs
  • Support recruitment and retention initiatives for Neonatal APPs
