About The Position

Functions as a health care provider in an outpatient setting providing evidence based care, including but not limited to, diagnostic, therapeutic and preventative health care under the general supervision of a physician.

• Advanced Practicing Registered Nurse (APRN) - State of Florida (FL)
• BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
• BLS American Heart RQI E-Card (BLS AHA-RQI ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
• BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
• BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE)
• BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS)
• Fingerprint Screen (FINGERPRNT) - Florida Department of Childrens & Family (DCF)
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• No prior work experience required.
• Employment in this position is contingent upon successful completion of a Level II Criminal History record check.
• This job requires privileging and credentialing.
• Employees who are hired/transfer/re-hired must meet certification requirements or possess 7 years of APP experience in particular area of expertise.
• Any movement requires meeting the credentials outlined in the job description.
• BLS required.
• ATLS is required for trauma roles.
• ACLS or PALS may be required depending upon the area of practice.
• National NP certification is required for population of clinical practice in Pediatrics/Adult area of practice.
• Exempt from Master's Degree if graduated prior to 1998.

Responsibilities

• Provides follow-up and health maintenance care to patients based upon accepted standards of care and best practice.
• Organizes and presents historical and physical data, together with evaluations and recommendations, to the healthcare team in such way as to permit him/her to clearly identify a medical problem and determine appropriate diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
• Practices within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team providing diagnostic, therapeutic and preventative healthcare management by performing a variety of medical or surgical tasks.
• Instructs and counsels patients with respect to health promotion and/or health maintenance.
• Executes diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as indicated.
• Obtains complete medical history from patients and performs comprehensive and focused physical examinations appropriate for patient population.
• Maintains complete and accurate records of contacts with patients whether in person, virtually or by telephone.
