Advanced Practice Provider Full Time
About The Position
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) cares for patients within the scope of their training and approved agreement, as outlined by their governing board. The APP collaborates with other providers and staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high patient satisfaction. This position works directly with a franchised business location; specific job duties and benefits may vary between franchises. American Family Care (AFC) provides walk-in primary and urgent care services seven days a week. Its centers treat acute illnesses and injuries, workers’ compensation cases, and occupational medicine needs. Locations have onsite labs and in-house X-ray capabilities.
Requirements
- Be board certified by ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA.
- Hold active, current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of practice.
- Hold a DEA number and state-controlled substance certificate, as required.
- Be able to multitask and work independently.
- Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and families.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
Nice To Haves
- One year of emergency room or urgent care experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform complete, detailed, and accurate health histories; review patient records; develop comprehensive medical assessments; and order appropriate laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies.
- Formulate medical and nursing diagnoses and institute therapy or refer patients to appropriate health care facilities, agencies, community resources, or physicians.
- Institute emergency measures, emergency treatment, or appropriate stabilization in situations such as cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, convulsions, poisoning, and allergic reactions.
- Interpret and analyze patient data to determine patient status, management, and treatment.
- Provide patients, families, and significant others with instructions and guidance regarding health care and health promotion.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Collaborate with other providers and staff to support efficient patient flow and patient satisfaction.
