About The Position

CVS Health’s MinuteClinic is hiring a clinic-based Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate to provide high-quality, evidence-based primary and family care. The position is a full-time float role serving the Matthews Siskey area and surrounding clinics within a 50-mile radius. Providers deliver in-person care and may conduct virtual visits from the clinic when onsite patient volume is low and virtual care will not delay or interfere with in-person care. The provider assesses, diagnoses, treats, and manages acute and chronic conditions; performs diagnostic testing and preventive counseling; treats injuries and illnesses; coordinates care with other healthcare professionals; and supports wellness services, chronic disease management, and preventive screenings. Clinic operations include inventory management, opening and closing the clinic, patient follow-up, insurance verification, payment collection, and appointment management. Charting and follow-up are completed during scheduled shifts. The role offers clinical and organizational support, evidence-based guidelines and assessment tools, training and clinical resources, opportunities for professional development, and the ability to practice at the top of the provider’s license. The position requires physical presence at assigned clinics and includes prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching.

Requirements

For Nurse Practitioners: active, unrestricted Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) license in good standing.
For Nurse Practitioners: master’s degree from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program and current national board certification through AANP or ANCC.
For Physician Associates: Master of Science in Physician Assistant/Associate Studies, or a health-related master’s degree plus a Bachelor of Science in PA Studies.
For Physician Associates: current NCCPA certification and an active, unrestricted state PA/Physician Associate license, or eligibility to obtain one upon hire.
Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Ability to provide holistic, evidence-based care, including counseling related to pregnancy prevention, STI prevention, and safer sex practices.
DOT certification exam completed within 30 days of employment.
Ability to pass a respirator fit test.
Physical presence at assigned clinic is required.
Ability to perform duties involving prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching, and to perform Basic Life Support.
Bilingual proficiency may be required depending on market needs.

Nice To Haves

One year of Nurse Practitioner experience; qualified new graduates may be considered.
Prior Physician Associate experience; qualified new graduates may be considered.
Experience with the EPIC electronic health record.
Prior MinuteClinic precepting rotation, particularly for applicants with less than one year of provider experience; preferred but not required.
Experience conducting patient assessments and exercising sound clinical decision-making in a virtual care environment.
Familiarity with digital health tools and virtual communication technologies.

Responsibilities

Deliver evidence-based primary and family care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.

Support a safe, efficient care environment through routine examinations and timely patient appointment management.
Complete charting and follow-up during scheduled shifts.
