Advanced Practice Provider - CVH Urgent Care - Per Diem

About The Position
The Advanced Practice Provider assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team and in accordance with scope-of-practice guidelines. The provider relies on protocols for authorization to diagnose, treat, and perform other functions within the scope of medical practice. This is a per diem position with no guaranteed hours or set schedule; the provider fills in for employees taking planned or unplanned time off. Per diem employees are offered work on an as-needed basis. In lieu of benefits, 15% is added to the hourly rate.
Requirements
- American Nurses Association credentialing certification or certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Advanced Practice Nurse licensure in Nevada or Physician Assistant licensure in Nevada.
- Current BLS or ACLS certificate.
- Ability to communicate courteously and professionally with employees, physicians, patients, and administrative staff.
- DEA and Board of Pharmacy Controlled Substance licensure when required for medical staff controlled-substance prescribing privileges.
Responsibilities
- Practice in accordance with acceptable medical standards, inform each patient that the provider is not a physician, and render medical services only under the supervision of a fully licensed practitioner.
- Exercise prerogatives and perform procedures and privileges only within the provider’s capabilities and authorization.
- Complete medical records in a timely manner according to medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations.
- Work with the clinic staff as part of a patient-centered care team, communicating effectively.
- Communicate with employers, insurance company representatives, and other health care providers about patient care issues.
- Participate in preceptor training for medical assistants.
- Follow HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team and within scope-of-practice guidelines.
