About The Position

Franciscan Physician Network is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide urgent care at the Franciscan WorkingWell Clinic in Crawfordsville, Indiana. The candidate will find strong mentorship among the group and will care for patients of all types. The ideal candidate has experience in urgent care or family medicine and is proficient in reading basic X-rays, laceration repair and wound care, initial ECG interpretation, interpreting test results, and evaluating and treating potentially critically ill patients, including arranging appropriate transport to the closest emergency room.

The clinic operates Sunday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a 1:2 weekend rotation. Average outpatient volume is 3–4 patients per hour, depending on the season. On-site equipment and services include EKG, point-of-care testing, a hospital radiation department, and a CT department. Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, flu, musculoskeletal pain or injury, shortness of breath, upper respiratory infection, and urinary tract infection.

Requirements

• Master's degree.
• Physician Assistant Certified (PA-C), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or nationally recognized certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to see all patient types.
• Proficiency in reading basic X-rays, laceration repair and wound care, initial ECG interpretation, interpreting test results, and urgent evaluation and treatment of potentially critically ill patients.
• Experience in urgent care or family medicine is identified as ideal.

Responsibilities

• Provide urgent care to patients of all types at the Franciscan WorkingWell Clinic.
• Read basic X-rays of all body parts.
• Perform laceration repair and wound care.
• Conduct initial ECG interpretation and interpret test results.
• Urgently evaluate and treat potentially critically ill patients and arrange appropriate transport to the closest emergency room department.
