About The Position

Shriners Children’s is seeking a part-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for its pediatric orthopedic outreach clinic in Redmond, Oregon. This 0.2 FTE position helps expand access to high-quality pediatric orthopedic care for children and families throughout Central Oregon. The APP will work with pediatric orthopedic surgeons from Shriners Children’s Portland and progress toward greater clinical independence through a structured onboarding and training program. Initially, the APP will partner with physicians in patient evaluations, treatment planning, and clinical procedures; as competencies are achieved, the APP will assume increasing responsibility for outpatient management of pediatric orthopedic patients. Duties include new patient evaluations, routine follow-up, fracture management, applying casts and splints, patient and family education, and coordinating treatment plans. The position has no operating room, first-assist, or procedural sedation responsibilities. The APP will provide care in Redmond on the second and fourth Fridays of each month, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with potential for additional clinic days as demand increases. A comprehensive one-year orientation includes in-person training at Shriners Children’s Portland on the first and third Fridays of each month, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Travel-related expenses for these training days are covered. The provider collaborates with pediatric orthopedic surgeons, nurses, medical assistants, and support staff to deliver family-centered care. The position requires at least three years of advanced practice clinical experience in a pediatric or pediatric specialty setting. Prior experience with pediatric orthopedic populations is strongly preferred. Compensation is hourly, ranging from $73.52 to $110.29 based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
