About The Position

Riverside Medical Group is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, including Family Nurse Practitioners) to join our Neurology team in Gloucester, Virginia. The Neurology team is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the brain and nervous system, including memory disorders, sleep medicine, headache management, and epilepsy. Through a collaborative, team-based approach, we provide comprehensive and coordinated care across the continuum, from hospitalization through outpatient treatment and follow-up services. The Advanced Practice Provider will work closely with the neurologist and interdisciplinary care team to evaluate and treat patients with acute and chronic neurological conditions. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments and examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, developing treatment plans, and providing ongoing patient management. As an integral member of Riverside's Comprehensive Neurosciences Program, the Advanced Practice Provider contributes to exceptional patient care, clinical excellence, and positive patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current or eligible Virginia Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license
  • National board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current or eligible Virginia Physician Assistant license
  • National certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
  • Eligible for Virginia licensure at the time of hire
  • Drug Enforcement Administration registration, or ability to obtain prior to start date
  • Basic Life Support certification required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities
