Advanced Practice Provider- Walk-In Clinic
About The Position
Prime Healthcare Illinois Medical Group is seeking experienced and motivated Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioners and/or Physician Assistants) to join a high-volume walk-in clinic in Chicago Heights. This role focuses on providing same-day, episodic care for a broad range of acute and non-emergent conditions in an outpatient setting. Providers will work independently and collaboratively within a supportive clinical team to deliver efficient, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. The clinic operates on 12-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 8:00 PM), offering flexible scheduling and extended access to care for the community.
Requirements
- Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Active Illinois license (or eligibility to obtain)
- National certification in respective discipline
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage a wide range of presenting complaints
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, independent practice environment
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or walk-in clinic settings preferred
- Experience with EMR systems preferred
- 2+ year in urgent care, emergency medicine, retail clinic, or similar episodic care setting
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients presenting to a walk-in clinic for acute and non-emergent conditions
- Perform focused history and physical exams
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, etc.)
- Diagnose and manage common conditions such as infections, minor injuries, rashes, musculoskeletal complaints, and other episodic concerns
- Provide treatment plans, prescribe medications, and coordinate appropriate follow-up care
- Deliver patient education on diagnoses, medications, and self-care
- Collaborate with supervising physicians and clinical staff as needed
- Document all encounters accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Maintain compliance with clinic protocols, safety standards, and quality metrics
