About The Position

Franciscan Health is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their team as a Surgical Nocturnist at the Franciscan Health Indianapolis location. The role involves providing surgical coverage for General Surgery (including Bariatric and Level III Trauma) and Orthopedic Surgery services during night shifts. The provider will work collaboratively with physicians and other advanced practice providers (APPs) to deliver high-quality patient care, focusing on clinical excellence and patient satisfaction. This is a 0.7 FTE position with a rotating 7 on 14 off schedule.

Requirements

• Master's Degree
• Physician Assistant Certified (PA-C)
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
• General and/or orthopedic surgery experience is preferred.
• Candidate will have a focus on clinical excellence and patient satisfaction.
• Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner will display exceptional interpersonal skills and desire to develop strong ties with the community and existing medical staff.
• Provider will need to work collaboratively with physicians to coordinate and deliver the highest quality of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Emergency Room and inpatient consults
• Transfer Center calls from outside hospitals
• Answering floor calls and outside patient calls via answering service
• Surgical first assist in after-hours urgent surgeries
• Occasional rounding during shift
