About The Position

This general neurology position will see a variety of pediatric patients with various neurological concern including patients with concern for headache and chronic headaches, rule out seizures, tic and Tourette Syndrome and movement disorders. The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse I (APRN-I) provides comprehensive, evidence-based advanced practice nursing to address the physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental needs of patients and families within the framework of the collaborative practice agreement. The APRN-I participates in beginning leadership, evidenced-based practice/ research, and organizational development activities with the support and direction of an experienced APRN mentor. Requirements

  • Master's Degree Required
  • 1-2 years experience Pediatric RN experience.
  • Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
  • Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
  • RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
  • APRN board certification congruent with population and practice setting (see policy statement: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Roles and Practice Setting) Required Upon Hire
  • Successful completion of national board certification in one of the following: Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP)
  • MO & KS Required Upon Hire
  • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
  • PNP Primary or Acute Care will be required - will have 2 years to enroll in a program and 5 years to complete the program

Nice To Haves

  • DNP preferred
  • Exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis within preferred specialty.
  • Specialty Certification relevant to unit’s patient population (determined by Nurse Manager/Director) Preferred
