About The Position

Ascension Illinois is looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Advanced Practice Provider, Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for our Internal Medicine Department. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Illinois to provide medical services to patients. This role is 100% outpatient, part-time, and involves joining a busy and well-established Medical Group Internal Medicine Practice. The clinic is attached to a Medical Center in a Medical Office Building and serves patients 18 years old and up. The provider will see an average of 12-15 patients per day in clinic. There is a requirement of working one Saturday per month from 8 am to 12 pm. The role includes MA support and excellent office support staff in a great Northwest Suburban location.

Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible Advanced Practice Provider, Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a physician.
  • Obtain patient history and perform assessment. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic procedures.
  • Provide and document direct treatment and management of health conditions.
  • Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.
