About The Position

Seattle Children’s Hospital is seeking a dedicated and versatile Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join our world-class Orthopedics & Sports Medicine team for a limited-term engagement. In this role, you will serve as a lead clinical decision-maker, assuming primary responsibility for the management of pediatric orthopedic patients across the entire continuum of care—from high-acuity surgical intervention to longitudinal recovery. You will join a program that started in 1907 and has been pioneering pediatric musculoskeletal care for over 115 years. Key Responsibilities As a vital member of the Orthopedic team, you will: Clinical Management: Provide direct care and assume primary responsibility for clinical management in ambulatory, operating room, emergency department, and inpatient settings. Assessment & Treatment: Obtain patient histories, perform physical examinations, order/interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop evidence-based treatment plans. Surgical & Inpatient Care: Assist in the OR, manage surgical co-management/consults, and oversee inpatient discharges. Collaborative Care: Partner with department attending physicians, specialists, and other health care team members to deliver safe, high-quality care. Continuity of Care: Direct or participate in case management and continuing care to ensure seamless patient transitions. Innovation & Research: Contribute to departmental quality improvement projects and participate in education and research efforts for patients, families, and the medical team. Requirements

• Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program.
• One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area.
• For Nurse Practitioners: Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington.
• Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner
• For Physician Assistants: Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington
• Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
• For All Providers: Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals is required at time of hire and to be maintained continuously throughout employment.
• American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will also be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Professionals.
• Some clinical locations may require American Heart Association Pediatric Life Support training and continuous maintenance of certification.
• Active clinical privileges as an Allied Health Provider at Seattle Children's Hospital must be secured prior to time of hire and must be maintained in good standing and in compliance with all medical staff bylaws, continuously throughout employment.
