The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner is a licensed professional provider who functions in collaboration with an attending physician in a variety of practice settings at YNHHS. Provides exceptional direct diagnostic and therapeutic patient care to the highest standards of the organization as part of a multidisciplinary team. Cultivates a patient centric environment which focuses on the whole individual inclusive of physical, psychosocial, spiritual and functional needs of the patient, family, and significant others. Serves as the focal professional for the continuity of care in patient care within scope of practice standards, as well as specialty specific standards to address and resolve problems that may arise. Provide comprehensive ambulatory care as an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) within a dynamic orthopedic float role. Support a wide range of orthopedic specialties, including trauma, foot and ankle, pediatric orthopedics, adult and pediatric spine, sports medicine, and arthroplasty. Float across multiple clinic locations throughout the greater New Haven area, ensuring flexible, team-based coverage. Deliver high-quality patient care including evaluations, follow-ups, treatment planning, and patient education. Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care. Maintain adaptability in a fast-paced clinical environment while supporting varying provider and clinic needs. Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday schedule. No weekends, call, holidays, or night shift responsibilities—offering strong work-life balance. Open to new graduates, with preference given to candidates with prior general orthopedic experience.
