About The Position

We are searching for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join two of our new subspecialty medical hospitalist teams providing inpatient care across a range of specialties. Patient populations served with these two teams include inpatient pulmonary, inpatient nephrology, epilepsy monitoring unit, and cardiac failure and transplant. We are looking for someone who works well in a fast-paced and busy setting. In this position, you will provide medical care across the pediatric continuum from neonates to adolescents with myriad medical diagnoses and chronic conditions, including independent and interdependent responsibilities in the assessment, diagnosis, initiation of treatment, evaluation of interventions, perform procedures, and evaluation of outcomes. The APP will be involved in education, consultation, research, and evaluation of clinical practice at various levels.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program.
  • One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area.
  • Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington (for Nurse Practitioners).
  • Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner (for Nurse Practitioners).
  • Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington (for Physician Assistants).
  • Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (for Physician Assistants).
  • Active Drug Enforcement Administration registration.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals is required at time of hire and to be maintained continuously throughout employment.
  • American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will also be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Professionals.
  • Active clinical privileges as an Allied Health Provider at Seattle Children's Hospital must be secured prior to time of hire and must be maintained in good standing and in compliance with all medical staff bylaws, continuously throughout employment.
